Comparing Types of Self Storage

Self Storage rental comes in many different shapes and sizes. Mini storage can be a small storage unit the size of a tiny closet, or large enough to store everything in your house. It can even be large enough for RV storage, boat storage and vehicle storage. You can choose short term or long term storage, and you even have a choice between three basic types of self storage like outdoor storage, indoor units and the kind of storage you can drive right up to.

Each type of storage is ideal for a certain item, but usually able to hold other items as well - with the exception of outdoor storage, which is most suitable for vehicles, boats, RVs, motorcycles and other large equipment like lawn or farm equipment, and not suitable for most general items. But with indoor storage, you can store some large equipment, as well as things like valuables and paperwork, and drive-up storage is suitable for just about anything you need to store, including boats, RVs and other vehicles.

Drive-up storage units are probably the most common self storage available. These units are about the size of a small garage, with the standard size typically coming in at about 10 x 10. They can be smaller or larger, with varying ceiling heights. These units are usually not climate control storage, so anything stored in them will need to be able to stand up to possible extreme temperatures, based on the climate in your area. A drive-up storage unit is convenient because you can back a truck right up to the unit and unload it there. You don't have to carry items through a building to get to an indoor storage unit. And because the door is like a garage door that rolls up and out of the way, the opening is large enough to easily accommodate things like appliances and furniture, and even allows some vehicles to drive right in, if the facility allows vehicles in their drive-up storage units (and most do).

You may even be able to find climate control drive-up self storage, but don't assume that the facility offers them. Ask so you can be sure to get the right storage for you needs. There are some possible drawbacks to this type of self storage, whether you're using it for boat storage, vehicle storage, or general storage.

Because the door is accessible from the outside, there's a higher risk of theft or a break-in than you'll find with indoor self storage. It's important with drive-up storage facilities for you be aware of their security measures before you commit to storage rental. You'll want to make sure someone can't just walk up to the building, cut off your lock and gain access to your belongings. Check their security carefully. Also, be sure not to put anything in the unit for long term storage that could suffer under hot and cold conditions, if the unit isn't climate control storage. Anything that could be ruined by the slightest moisture, warp, or mildew isn't a great candidate for long term storage in this type of unit. You should never store food or anything perishable in any storage unit, but be sure you're aware of everything you put inside and that nothing that could possibly draw insects or vermin might be in any of your boxes. Since the door is easily accessible from the outside, items like this could present a real problem.

Indoor self storage offers you a storage unit inside a building that might contain several floors of storage. These are the most likely to be climate control storage, but be sure to ask because not all indoor storage is heated and cooled. Most mini storage units are found in indoor storage facilities, too. The doors can be roll-up doors like a garage or ordinary doors. These have better security than drive-up and outdoor storage, and are good for people who need climate control storage or just prefer to house their items in an indoor setting, rather than a warehouse or garage-type storage unit.

Outdoor storage usually costs less than both indoor storage (which is the most expensive in almost all cases) and drive-up storage. You can rent storage units big enough for huge RV storage or small enough for a one-person recreational vehicle, like a motorcycle or four-wheeler. The might be covered with a carport, featuring cement or gravel floors. Security of the entire storage area is of utmost importance when you choose outdoor self storage.

Upgrading PC for Gaming?
I've been a PC gamer for years, and for me, having a console as well (I'm refraining from saying the console to prevent any console rivalry), it is by far the best option. The problem is I can only be a PC gamer at the weekend, as the computer at my mum's house (my parents are split up) is slow as hell and I live there the majority of the time. Buying a new PC would be far too expensive, as I'm only 16 and although I have a job I still don't earn enough to afford a brand new PC. This leaves me with the only option of upgrading my mum's pc, and since I'm not a huge buff when it comes to hardware (ask me anything outside of that i.e software, programming and I'm your man!), I need some guidance as to what to buy. I have a rough understanding of different pieces of hardware, but I could really use someone who knows their stuff! Anyway, here are the specs (I know they're shit, but it's my mum, she's only just discovered online shopping) and thanks a bunch for actually reading this long question! Also, my budget is around £500, but don't allow that to be a restrictor, because I can buy parts in the future! Lastly, assume that all parts with "(optional)" next to them are not on the board. I have literally just typed this out from the manual, so please appreciate how long this took! *****Motherboard Specs***** ***Board MSI Mainboard Intel G31 Express Chipset Based (G31M3 Series) Designed for Intel Core 2 Quad / Duo, Pentium & Celeron Processors ***Processor Support Intel Core 2 Duo/ Core 2 Quad/ Pentium Dual-Core E2XXX and Celeron 400 LGA775 processors in LGA775 package. Are there any tablets where you can upload pics from your digital camera onto the tablet?
I need some sort of device to use this summer as I will be away from home for almost 3 months - I'll have access to free wifi, and I do not want to buy a laptop since I will have no use for it at home (since I already have a desktop that I love). I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy 7.7, but I'm not sure if that tablet, or any other tablet for that matter, can have the ability to upload pictures from your digital camera. Right now, I use a USB cord to upload pics to my PC (my current camera uses and XD card for storage - I might have to get one with an SD card if any tablets will take that) - I don't think any tablets take a USB chord...will they take an SD card? I know some have mini SD card slots, but I'm not sure if that is for the tablet's memory (i.e. you cannot take it out to upload pics from your camera's SD card b/c the storage of the tablet will be gone?)? What do you think? I need a tablet for internet (email, facebook, youtube, twitter, hulu, and basic research, etc.) and to upload pictures, possibly video.

Please check this build?
This is the first time I'll be building a PC from scratch and I am about to order parts after some lengthy research. I believe all the pieces match up, but I wanted a more experienced opinion. Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz Motherboard: Asus M4N75TD Desktop Motherboard AMD Socket AM3 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 RAM: Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4) DDR3 SDRAM @1600MHz Storage: Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA 3Mbps @7200 RPM Optical Drive: LiteOn IHDs118 DVD ROM Power Supply: Antec EarthWatts 650 Case: Antec P 182 That's everything I expect to put in before a power light comes on. If I'm missing any crucial components, please point them out. I don't expect to need any special cooling units since the case has 3 large fans and should be very spacious. Also, I'm not 100% sure of how sound cards work or if it's really necessary (I'll be running my audio through a high end headset). I would really appreciate the help, very open to suggestions as well.

Questions concerning the Nikon D3200 and DSLRs in general?
I am new to DSLRs and I will be buying a D3200 soon. I will mostly use this to shoot video, but I will also be taking photos with it. I have a few questions to ask about the D3200 and DSLRs in general: 1. Would you recommend that ask the external microphone attachment with the camera when I'm shooting video, I heard DSLRs can produce lots of noise when focusing and zooming, but is the noise bad enough the this external attachment is necessary? 2. Approximately how many minutes of 1080P video recording = 1 GB of storage I need to know this so I can decide how large of an SD card to buy. 3. Can this camera export to Final Cut Pro X? 4. Can I export raw footage without compression? 5. I heard that Nikon imposes a 20 minute limit for 1080P video because the built in sensor can overheat (is this true), will recording video damage the sensor? 6. Approximately how many minutes or hours of video can I take on one charge? 7. Can the camera work while plugged into an electric source? 8. What comes in the box with the camera? If someone can answer these questions I would really appreciate it :)

Best tablet for college student?
I am in desperate need of a laptop but since they're too expensive I'm opting for a tablet that's around $250. I originally wanted a MacBook so I can edit pictures using adobe software ( I'm an amateur photographer) but unfortunately it's out of my price range. I've checked out the Samsung and blackberry tablets. What I will use it for: note taking, essays, homework, surfing web, email, picture storage?, and online classes. So I need something that has wifi, word, and USB. Apps aren't that important since I already have an iPhone. Thanks for your help!
