Save Your Sanity With A Shoe Storage Bench

One way to start the morning off on the wrong foot is with a frantic search for two shoes that match or two shoes that go with your attire for that day. Digging around in a closet is not a fun activity. Piling your shoes on the floor of a closet or in the corner of a room causes the shoes to take on a smashed, crumpled, and generally out of shape appearance. Investing in a shoe storage bench is the perfect way to eliminate a daily hectic, stressful search for shoes.

You have many options to select from when looking for the perfect way to organize your shoes. The size of your budget will most likely be a factor in the selection process. If your budget is tight, you might want to search for a bench at online discount sites, furniture outlets, department stores, and possibly consignment shops or thrift stores. You can spend a little or you can spend a lot depending on your personal budget.

The space you have available in your home is also a factor in the selection process. Some storage benches are relatively small and can store around nine pair of shoes. Other larger styles can store up to twenty four pairs of shoes. Once again the choice depends on your personal situation.

Some benches have a cushioned seat while others are simply a wooden surface. Some benches have a back to them while others do not. Some styles have individual cubbyhole compartments for you to store shoes in. A different style of bench has shelves below the seat where you can line up several pair of shoes on each shelf. These shelves may either be wire or wooden. One other style option is the Shoe Bench with the tilt out front panel.

A bench with a front panel that tilts is a good style to place in a bedroom or entryway. The shoes remain out of sight and the bench simply becomes an attractive addition to the room. You can also find shoe benches that have drawers incorporated into their design. This additional storage space is a good location for shoe strings, cleaning cloths, and other items related to shoe care.

There's a shoe storage bench style for any decor. Simple wooden benches look great in a country, contemporary or traditional decor. A bench with leather upholstery adds sophistication to a modern design style.

Bonding wood to concrete?
I have a wooden shoe bench that I would like to put on my front patio, the patio is concrete and I want to glue it down to secure it. However, I don't want it to be forever permanent since I am a renter. Any suggestions for a good glue to use to keep if from moving around but also easy to remove in the future?

How can I make good use of my closet?
I have a small room and about halfway through a slanted ceiling begins. My closet has no doors, just an open doorway. It is about 2.5 feet deep and spans the length of my room, probably about 7 feet. However, due to the slanted ceilings and the unreachable-ness of the very back, about half of it is only used for storage of unseasonal clothes, extra blankets, air mattresses, etc. That is on the right side of my door. On the left side is shelves. Because of this, I only use the 3-4 feet that is not being occupied by large boxes or containing shelves. There is a pole spanning the length of the closet, obviously for dresses, etc. and a bench-type low table on the ground in front of the door for my shoes. I hate it so much! The shelves are all cluttered with crap that doesn't belong in a clothing closet, like old books and junk. The side of my closet that is occupied by my family's junk isn't even organized, its just bins of clothes and stuff thrown in there. The only spot I /can/ use is the 4-foot space in front of the doorway, where I can't even reach the things on the pole because the shoe-bench is in the way. The lack of doors also bothers me, I wish I could have two doors that open. The entire thing is a disaster. Not to mention that it's completely disorganized. Not only are the family boxes and shelves completely cluttered with useless things simply thrown in there by me and my parents, there are toppled over piles of clothes, sweatshirts, etc. everywhere there could be free-space. I just don't have anywhere else to put them! And the shoe-bench is so ugly and pointless, with shoes just thrown everywhere. All the walls, shelves, shoe-bench, molding, etc. are the color white. How can I organize my closet and make it more aesthetically pleasing? I hate it so much right now. Thanks in advance, sorry if I was unclear. All answers help.
